John Bartle – Dr. John R. Bartle is the David Scott Diamond Professor of Public Affairs and the Director of the School of Public Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). He has courtesy appointments with Environmental Studies at UNO, the Department of Health Services Research and Administration (University of Nebraska Medical Center) and the Center for Public Administration, Sun Yat-Sen University, People’s Republic of China. He teaches in the areas of public financial management, public budgeting, public policy, and applied economics.

Michael Braunstein – Michael Braunstein is Executive Director of Heartland Healing and certified by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners in clinical hypnotherapy. He graduated from the Los Angeles Hypnotism Training Institute and was an instructor at the UCLA Extension University for 11 years.

David Corbin – David Corbin is a professor of health education at UNO … and he’s also a choreographer and performer. Now, thanks to YouTube, anyone with an internet connection can see him perform his dance Bagdaddy. His piece, using song Posed to Death by The Faint, has an environmental message. Andy Jameton – Dr. Jameton’s main area of interest is the philosophy and ethics of environmental health. He is currently teaching and conducting research on global ethical issues in health care and public health, such as equality, environment, ecological medicine, and global climate change. Dr. Jameton serves on the Medical Ethics Committee, the Institutional Review Board, the Ethics Consultation Service, and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. He serves on several committees in the College of Public Health, including planning committees for a Center in Ethics and Humanities, and a possible Public Health MSIA PhD. He is a co-founder and board member of City Sprouts, a community gardening and sustainability education project.

Bruce Johansen – Bruce E. Johansen is professor of Communications and Native American Studies at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Author of “Global Warming in the 21st Century” Review: “Bruce Johansen’s three-volume compendium, Global Warming in the 21st Century, is a definitive guide to what has become one of the year’s most contorversial topics.”–Kirkus Review

Adam Kochanowicz – Adam Kochanowicz is the founder of VegPage.com, an online non-profit, non-donation animal rights community focusing on theory, direct-action, and personal discipline over donations.  As a freelance animal rights writer, Kochanowicz anthropologically studies and supports animal rights groups worldwide with a focus on an abolitionist approach. Adam is a UNO student.

Abby Queal – Abby Queal was certified in Permaculture Design in 2001 by the Ecovillage Training Center (at The Farm) in Summertown, TN. Since then she has integrated this philosophy and strives to maintain sustainability in all aspects of her life. She grows her own food and herbal medicine, barters with neighbors and friends and runs her business, Peace On Earth Clothing Co., on recycled materials, turning them into patchworked children’s clothing. www.peaceonearthco.com.

Chelsea Taxman – Chelsea is a student at UNO studying Behavioral Health and Horticulture. Chelsea has learned the importance of sustainability, agriculture, permaculture, community and concious by living the life in various ways. She recently traveled to Hawai’i to work on a Permaculture fruit farm through the WWOOF program, has been part of a CSA farm in Massachusetts at Hampshire College, Blooms Organics in Crescent, IA, and helped on various community gardens in New Orleans as part of Hurricane Relief volunteering and her neighborhood garden at college. Chelsea is excited to be back in her hometown of Omaha and be part of her community as it moves toward a more concious path. In her spare time, Chelsea hula hoops, plays music around Omaha (www.myspace.com/searosemusic), hangs out with friends, and studies herbal medicine and other natural health options.

Paul Vonderfecht – Energy Smart Company was founded in November 2008 by owner, Paul Vonderfecht in Omaha, Nebraska. Paul started the New York division for the energy service company, TAC Energy Solutions, helping schools, local governments, and large businesses reduce their energy consumption and environmental impact. During this time, he identified the need for homeowners and small businesses to receive the same energy saving services being offered to large organizations.
